IADC Therapy with Ellen
Common FAQ's
Am I a good candidate?

IADC therapy is for those who are struggling with the loss of a loved one and are finding difficulties in moving forward. While most everyone struggling with loss can benefit from IADC, we don’t recommend it for those whose loss is recent and where initial processing has not occurred. For this, we recommend traditional grief therapy, which we offer as well. This is something we can discuss during your initial consultation.
What if I'm struggling with the loss of a pet?
Absolutely! IADC therapy helps us process the grief associated with the loss of our loved ones - including our pets. Death is loss and we can experience the same and even more intense grief when losing our special friends.
How are sessions structured?

IADC therapy takes place during two 90-minute sessions over two days. Ideally, this occurs two days in a row; however, it can be spaced out if needed. Sessions can be scheduled in-person and virtually. If you book a virtual session, you’ll receive a secure link 24 hours in advance, along with a reminder on the day of your appointment.
How do I prepare?
There’s nothing for you to do except arrive with an open heart and mind - along with a willingness to make space for difficult feelings and new connection to your grief.

Is IADC therapy covered by insurance?
Yes. We are in-network with select insurance companies. For those not in-network, we provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. (Please note that out-of-network benefits vary so we cannot guarantee reimbursement.)
